meet the maker
Taylor Johnson grew up in Western Colorado where he developed a love for the outdoors and working with his hands. In addition to woodworking, Taylor is an outdoorsman who also enjoys leatherwork, ultimate frisbee, and being outside with his wife and two children.
Taylor learned carpentry skills from his father at an early age and found enjoyment in being creative in a hands-on setting. Before becoming a full-time furniture maker, Taylor worked in various facets of the building industry, mainly focusing on finish carpentry. After moving to Wichita, Kansas in 2009, he quickly discovered his love for the local hardwood trees, native to the Midwest. He began working for a nearby sawmill and woodshop and became immersed in milling and working with hardwoods to create beautiful and functional pieces of furniture.
Taylor has a passion for creating one of a kind, heirloom quality furniture for his patrons. From the initial design to the selection of lumber to cutting and fitting each joint to the final hand rubbed finish, Taylor meticulously and carefully makes each piece by hand to suit your needs and desires. It is Taylor's ambition and conviction that each piece he creates will serve and be enjoyed by you and your family for generations to come.
